I have decided to a Slidejoy app review, which to me is one of the best android apps that pay cash for doing almost nothing. Of course, it begs the question of what is Slidejoy app exactly and how do you make money from it.
Recent times have seen the proliferation of apps on smartphones and some of them purportedly offering users a chance to make money. I admit that I was a late convert as I was skeptical that you can make money from a phone. And I am not talking about scams, of which there definitely are. I am referring to the value proposition for both users and the advertisers. When I first heard of this, the first thing that came to my mind was that these must be scams. I mean who would in their right mind pay you for doing nothing. As what was said in Jurassic Park, life will find a way.
Even if it sounds uncommon for one or the opposite – apparently it really works. Quite merely, each business has got to market itself in some way. Sure, because otherwise, no one would are aware of it. Therefore the keyword is advertising. And specifically here are many totally different possibilities.
Some corporations think about word of mouth, whereas others interact in vast selling campaigns, as an example on TV. They pay cash so that as many of us as possible can get to see or hear their product or service. In the meanwhile, one is eventually dulled by all the advertising. No surprise with such a lot advertising around one. There also are advertisements on nearly every corner of the web. On the smartphones, you see the usual banners and irritating pop-ups. So are there any virgin advertising areas left? Why, yes! Like the beginning screen of your smartphone!
First screen adverts
Smartphones are progressively turning into first-screen devices. The developers of such apps have some time ago come back up with the concept to use specifically this place for advertising functions. Through the strategically placed Mobile Full-Screen ads, the app offers the use of a forever visible first-screen, that is seen by potential and existing customers whenever they operate their smartphone. This helps to replace banner advertising on smartphones. By putting the advertising as a full screen, it also helps to attain a higher engagement rate.
Of course, no one would volunteer their home screen for promotional functions … except for cash. However, why are you being paid to look at advertising? Again, the reason is pretty straightforward. In fact, advertising is in most cases a really pricey enterprise. Advertising costs money, and not too little! The most necessary issue is that the result: the end user sees or hears what the corporation wants to inform him.
Next, I did a search online for such apps and I found a few. But… most do not apply to those of us that reside outside of the US. In fact, some of the best-earning unlocking apps are only meant for the US market. Ouch! You know the feeling where you can see a sure thing but you cannot touch it. Suffice to say, I do not want to dwell on the fishes that got away.
What did I do? I persisted and eventually found a few other apps that can be used within and outside the US. Amongst them, two of the best were Slidejoy and HoneyScreen. Why the past tense? Well, I just found that HoneyScreen is being discontinued after 19 May 2018, 19 Mar if you wish to redeem your points. Interestingly, the company that offered HoneyScreen referred its customer to use Slidejoy. And I was like what??? It was then I found out that both belonged to the same company – Buzzvil. So this was a consolidation of sorts.
Enough of the backstory, let’s focus on Slidejoy. So is Slidejoy app a scam? Is Slidejoy legit? Let’s find out.
Slidejoy app review
What is exactly Slidejoy? Simply said, it’s a free android lock screen app that offers its users the chance to make money online simply by unlocking their lock screen. Unfortunately, it is not offered on IOS. It is operated by Buzzvil.
Buzzvill was founded in 2012 to develop natural and effective advertising platforms on mobile. Originally, Buzzvil ran their own lock screen app called HoneyScreen. Then in 2016, they acquired Slidejoy. Since then, Buzzvil has matured to become the biggest Lock-screen Advertising Platform in the world with presence in over 30 countries.
Who can join?
Users must be at least 13 years old.
As to availability, I know that it is available in many countries. However, it is not clear as to the exact country that it is available in. I could not find any info on their website pertaining to this. The best way to find out is if you can download the app from your local Google Play store. If you can, then you should be able to join. That I feel is the best way to find out if it is offered in your country.
How do you join?
As mentioned earlier, it is currently only offered as an Android app. So go to Google Play store to download the app. After installation, you can join either by signing up through your email or through your Facebook account. Simple.
How does it work?
With the SlideJoy app, you earn money simply by swiping across the screen something that you do countless times a day anyway, namely unlocking your phone screen. Once you have the app installed and registered, you can activate their lock screen and at the same time turn it into a digital billboard or newsfeed for attention-grabbing advertisements for the varied products in a sublime and inventive style in addition to up-to-date news.
In return, Slidejoy gives you monetary returns and pleasure of the simplicity of its use. You are paid for the “rent”. This pay rate is the same in spite of what percentage of ads and stories are viewed or clicked. Therefore, the smartphone ought to still be used as per normal. You need not purposely turn on and off your screen as there will not be any advantage. This is good when you use the app to earn money totally passively.
So how exactly does it work? You will see an advertisement or other news every time you want to unlock your phone. If you want to use your mobile phone, just swipe to the right to get to the start screen. But if you are interested in the displayed advertising, you can swipe left and will be redirected to a site to learn more about the advertisement. Or if you want to get news displayed, just swipe upwards.
So basically just a small movement, and you’re about to start making money. But that is not all. You can also make money by completing offers. In the latest version of the app, you can only access this on the advert screen, top right.
So what is available here? At this moment, you have scratch offers and Slidejoy Offer Wall’s partners (Supersonic, Fyber, TrialPay, Adscend Media and Peanut Labs). Here you can definitely make more money as compared to the swiping. But this is of course no longer passive as it will involve you having to scratch cards, download apps, play games and do surveys to make money. This is entirely up to you.
Finally, you can also make some money with referrals. 100 carats for every 500 carats that your friends receive. But it is however only effective for 3 months after they register. Not great but still something.
How does it pay?
The app uses an internal currency. The advertisements that you wipe over time give you so-called carats or points in layman terms. And once you have collected a certain number of carats, the collected carats can be exchanged via PayPal for real money or vouchers. The magical number of carats that you have to collect to pay out is 2,000 carats. 1,000 carats are equivalent to 1 US dollar.
The amount that you have accumulated will be updated daily. On the following day, it will be displayed in your account (so you will not see in real-time how your credit grows or if you just got Carats).
You can instruct the payment of your credit as soon as you have collected 2,000 carats. Besides this, you can also exchange the carats for gift cards and phone top-ups. The types and merchants available will depend on the country you are from.
Alternatively, you can choose to donate your earnings to charities. To do this, you will need to go to Setting and change your mode from that of “Normal” to “Hero”. This is entirely up to you. Your choice.
Weaknesses of the app
- At the moment, the app is unfortunately only available for Android. iPhone owners will probably have to be patient.
- You will not be able to make a lot from this app.
Strengths of the app
- You do not have to do anything after installation to make money. This is a truly passive income. Use your phone as per normal and you will be paid.
- There are also many other ways to earn, namely scratching cards, downloading apps, playing games and doing surveys.
- According to their site, the app has been optimized to consume as little data as possible so. I can definitely attest to that as one of my phones is on 300 Mb of data per month and I never had any issue with exceeding it. Ever.
- Apart from the adverts, the app also shows you some trending news items. In a way, it is also a news app.
- You are only restricted to one account per mobile device. This means they do not stop you from having accounts on different phones. And there are a lot of us who have multiple phones nowadays.
Tips and strategies to help you earn
Firstly, it is not necessary for you to permanently lock and unlock your phone – you should use your phone as normal as you would without the app.
Next, you should be able to earn more, much more by doing the offers. However, you must be prepared to do a bit more work for this.
Last but not least, I would advise you to install this on any other phones that you have since they do not restrict you to only one account. All you need is emails and phones. This will definitely increase your earnings.
On its own, I have to admit that the amount that we can make from Slidejoy is not a lot. But taken as a whole, it does help to add up. I do recommend Slidejoy. If not for anything, it is for the fact that it is truly a passive income. You do not need to do anything out of the ordinary to make money. However, I must qualify here that should you find swiping a lock screen irritating, then I do not recommend that for you.
